Satish Kaushik, a seasoned actor and director, passed suddenly on March 9 at the age of 66. According to reports, he had a heart attack in a moving car while in Delhi.

Ashok in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983) Satish was portrayed as Ashok Namboodirippad, a subordinate of Tarneja, a crooked contractor played by Pankaj Kapur, who kills D'Mello, a municipal commissioner played by Satish Shah. While the film is entertaining, one specific telephone conversation between Satish and Vinod Mehra, played by Naseeruddin Shah, is plain funny.

Calendar in Mr India (1987) One of the most memorable lines from the Shekhar Kapur-directed movie featuring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi was "Calendar khana do (give us food)". One of Satish's most well-known roles in his acting career was that of Calendar, the cook.

Kashiram in Ram Lakhan (1989) Ram Lakhan, which was directed by Subhash Ghai, featured a large ensemble cast, including Jackie Shroff, Dimple Kapadia, Madhuri Dixit, and Amrish Puri in the key parts. One of the funniest comedy duos in Indian films included Satish as Kashiram and Anupam Kher as Devdhar.

Mutthu Swamy in Saajan Chale Sasural (1996) Shyamsunder (Govinda), who hails from a village, loves music a lot. He moves to the city and befriends south Indian tabla player Muranchand "Mutthu" Swami (Satish Kaushik). Satish plays one of his best roles in this movie, which stars Govinda and Karisma Kapoor as the main characters.
