Red Alert: Moist And Delicious Red Velvet Cupcake Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup unsalted butter, 2 eggs, 2 egg yolks, 2 tsp red food coloring, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup buttermilk.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.

Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.

 Mix Dry Ingredients

Mix Wet Ingredients

Whisk together butter, eggs, egg yolks, red food coloring, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, whisking until smooth. Add buttermilk and whisk until combined.

 Combine Wet And Dry Ingredients

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Beat together 8 oz cream cheese, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, and 1 tsp vanilla. Gradually add 2 cups powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Frost cooled cupcakes and decorate as desired!
