Mix teriyaki sauce ingredients in a bowl, starting with cornflour and adding soy sauce gradually.
Heat oil in a frying pan until hot.
Add chicken and cook for 10-15 minutes until nearly cooked through.
Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes.
Add teriyaki sauce and cook for 5 minutes until thickened and well-coated.
Steam rice and green vegetables, mix cooked broccoli with the chicken and sauce if desired.
