1 cup whole wheat flour, 1 tbsp ghee, 1/4 tsp turmeric, pinch of salt, water as needed.
1 cup chana dal, 3/4 cup grated jaggery, 1/2 tsp cardamom powder, 1 tbsp ghee.
Mix flour, turmeric, salt, and ghee then add water to form a soft dough, cover, and let rest for 30 minutes.
Cook chana dal, mash, then cook with ghee, jaggery, and cardamom until thick; let cool.
Divide dough and filling, roll dough, add filling, fold, and roll into a circle.
Cook rolled Puran Poli on a heated tawa with ghee until golden and crispy, then repeat.
Enjoy this festive treat with a cup of sweet yogurt or just as is.
