Combine all-purpose flour, sugar, turmeric, and baking soda. Add water to form a thick batter.
Peel and slice 2 large bananas horizontally and then vertically.
Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
Dip banana slices in batter and fry in hot oil until lightly golden, turning as needed.
Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Enjoy hot with chai or coffee.
