After Operation Sarpvinash in 2003,  the Indian Army has now launched a new operation in the Kashmir valley  to eliminate terrorists.

The Rajauri-Poonch area of Jammu  and Kashmir suffered intense terror activities and sacrifice of Indian soldiers last year after which this much-needed operation started in January 2024.

This operation is targeted at both sides of the Pir Panjal mountain ranges and aims at neutralizing threats that caused the loss of lives of around 20 jawans.

Army Chief General Manoj Pande stated that the proxy terror groups get support from across the LOC where their support infrastructure remains intact.

The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps and Nagrota-headquartered White Knight Corps might be involved in this super-intense operation.

Operation Sarp Vinash was also launched in the very same region in 2003 in which 64 terrorists were neutralized and their 119 hideouts were burst.

J and K police, CRPF, Special Operations Group, and intelligence agencies are working closely with the Indian Army for the ongoing operation.
