A 28ft tall statue of Nataraja  is being installed at the site of the upcoming G20 summit in Delhi.

The statue represents Lord Shiva as the "lord of the dance" and his cosmic power of creation and destruction.

Weighs 19 tons and is made from 8 metals: Gold, silver, lead, copper, tin, mercury, iron and zinc (Ashtadhatu), the statue was made in a small town in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.

The sculpture is made by the son of famous sculptor Devasenapati Satapati from Swamimalai district in Tamil Nadu.

The height of the statue is 22 feet. It was then placed on a 6-foot-high pedestal, bringing its total height to 28 feet.

The statue is made using the ancient wax metal casting technique. The clay  used to make the statue is available on the section of the Cauvery River that flows through Swamimalai.
