Mysore Rasam: A Spicy, Tangy South Indian Delight

Ingredients

1 tbsp Toor Dal, 2 chopped Tomatoes, 1 tbsp Tamarind pulp, 1 tsp Rasam Powder, 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder, Salt to taste, Fresh Coriander leaves for garnish.

Preparation

Cook toor dal in 2 cups of water until soft and mashed.

Cooking Rasam

In a saucepan, boil 2 cups of water with chopped tomatoes, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder, and salt.

Add Rasam Powder 

Add 1 tbsp of Rasam powder and mix well. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.

Combine Dal And Rasam Mixture

Add the cooked toor dal to the rasam mix and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Serve And Enjoy

Your delicious Mysore Rasam is ready! Serve with steamed rice or enjoy as a soup.
