Aman Trivedi
A 25-ton light battle tank, developed in just two years for trials jointly by the Defence Research and Development Authority and Larsen & Turbo.
The name of the tank is inspired by Dogra General Zorawar Singh, who led the operation in Ladakh and Western Tibet. While its name means powerful.
The tank is lightweight and can easily run on both land and water, it can climb steep mountains and can cross any water bodies.
After the completion of all trials, the tank will be introduced to the army by 2027 as per the DRDO chief Samir V Kamath.
Zorawar was developed to meet the requirements of the Indian army for the operations and counter in eastern Ladakh to counter the Chinese in the LAC.
