The Mumbai-Pune Expressway proudly holds the distinction of being the country's inaugural expressway, transforming the landscape of connectivity.

Linking Mumbai with Pune along the Mumbai Bangalore-Chennai arm, the expressway serves as a crucial route for efficient travel between these two major cities

Significantly slashing travel time, the expressway shortens the journey between Kalamboli in Raigad and Kiwale in Pune to approximately two hours, enhancing overall accessibility

Recognized as the fastest route for commuters shuttling between Mumbai and Pune, the expressway optimizes travel experiences and contributes to smoother transportation

Initially, the expressway had no speed limit for the general public, but subsequently, a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour was imposed on private vehicles for safety

In a positive development, the speed limit for the Mumbai-Pune Expressway was raised to 120 kilometers per hour in 2019, allowing for more rapid and streamlined travel.

Fully operational since 2002, the Mumbai–Pune Expressway spans a substantial distance of 94.5 km and features five interchanges - Kon (Shedung), Chowk, Khalapur, Kusgaon, and Talegaon - enhancing its functionality
