Make Tasty Karnataka Style Bele Holige

You need a flour, coconut oil, water, salt, turmeric powder, chana dal, jaggery and cardamom powder.

Ingredients

Take 1/2 cup of maida in a bowl. Then add salt and turmeric powder. Now add in water little by little and prepare a soft and sticky dough

Make The Dough

Take 1/2 cup of dal in a pressure cooker and rinse it. Add in a cup of water & cook the dal. Drain the excess water from the cooked dal.

Next grind cooked dal, 1/2 cup of jaggery, 2 tbsp of grated coconut and cardamom using a mixer grinder. Grind until smooth.

Transfer it to a thick bottomed pan. Continue stirring until the excess water content is dried. Wait until stuffing is warm.

Wait until stuffing is warm.Then make small lemon sized balls from the kanaka. Next dust your fingers take a kanaka, and place a hoorana over it.

Stuff The Dough

Next dust your fingers, then take a kanaka and place a hoorana over it. Slowly push the hoorana or stuffing inside and cover it evenly with the dough.

Place On Tawa

Heat a pan or tawa and transfer the rolled holige or obbattu on tawa. Wait until you see bubbles here and there. And then flip it and cook on the other side as well.

Serve

Serve bele holige with Ghee and enjoy.
