Wash the moong dal and rice thoroughly. Soak for 10-15 minutes to ensure even cooking.
Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, ginger, and turmeric.
Add soaked rice and dal to the pan, stir well.
Then add water. Let it cook on low heat until soft and mushy.
Once cooked, fluff the Moong Dal Khichdi with a fork, add a spoonful of ghee.
