Lord Jagannath along with his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra was taken for witness and worship with a great chariot.

Three richly decorated chariots, one for each god, are the festival at the central location rebuilt every year by skilled craftsmen.

Pahandi Ritual

The Gods are brought from the Temple Jagannath in a grand Pahandi procession where they are taken to the chariots accompanied by song and music.

The Journey Begins

Thousands of devotees pull the carts along the main road to Gundicha to the temple, symbolizing the journey of the divine siblings to their aunt's house.

The Gods reside in the Gundicha Temple for nine days a day, where they are worshiped and special rituals are offered and pilgrims are drawn from all over.

The Return

The Return, which is known as "Bahuda Yatra", marks the return journey of the gods back to the Jagannath temple, celebrating the end of the festival with similar fervor.
