Cook plain rice to serve as the base of your Sadya meal.
Cook toor dal with mixed vegetables like carrots, and potatoes. Add tamarind, sambar powder, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dry red chilies.
Cook vegetables (carrot, beans, pumpkin) in coconut milk, mix in yogurt, and season with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Stir-fry vegetables (like cabbage or beans) with grated coconut, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies.
Fry pappadam until crispy. Make pickle (mango or lime) and prepare a tangy rasam with tamarind, tomatoes, and spices.
On a banana leaf, serve the rice with sambar, avial, thoran, pappadam, pickle, and a sweet payasam to finish.
