– 1 cup Moong Dal – 3 tbsp Ghee – 1/2 cup Sugar – 1/2 cup Milk – 1/2 cup Water – 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder – Chopped Nuts
Wash 1 cup Moong Dal thoroughly, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
In a pan, heat 2 tbsp ghee. Add soaked dal and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden.
Add 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup water. Stir well, cover, and cook for 5 minutes on low heat.
Now, add 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 tsp cardamom powder. Mix well and cook for 5 more minutes.
Add 1 tbsp ghee, and stir until the halwa thickens and starts to release ghee. Garnish with chopped nuts and saffron.
Serve hot and enjoy your delicious, aromatic Moong Dal Halwa.
