How To Make Perfect Semiya Upma At Home

Firstly heat a heavy kadai. Add the semiya strands in the kadai, begin to roast the semiya.

Roast Semiya

Remove the roasted semiya in a separate bowl or plate. Keep aside.

Serve In A Bowl

Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds, cashew, fry till cashew starts turning light golden.

Make Vermicelli Upma

Now add onions, curry leaves, somee spices, ginger-garlic, dry chilies. Mix well.

Saute

Then add 2 cups of water, sugar and salt s per taste. Mix again. Increase the heat to high & bring the water mixture to a rolling boil.

Add Water

Then lower the heat and add the roasted semiya. Mix very well.

Cook Semiya Upma

Simmer till all the water is absorbed and the semiya has become soft and cooked well. Add Choppd coriander leaves & mix well.

Add Coriander Leaves

Serve semiya upma hot or warm with coconut chutney.
