- 2 cups all-purpose flour - 1 tbsp baking powder - ½ cup sugar - ½ tsp salt - ½ cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed) - ½ cup dried cranberries - Zest of 1 orange - 2/3 cup heavy cream - 1 egg - Optional: Glaze (orange juice + powdered sugar)
1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. 2. Add orange zest and mix until combined.
1. Toss cranberries into the mixture. 2. Whisk cream and egg together, then gradually add to form a dough. 3. Add Butter
1. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and form a circle about 1 inch thick. 2. Cut into wedges and place on a lined baking sheet.
Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
1. Mix powdered sugar and orange juice to create a glaze. 2. Drizzle over the cooled scones for extra sweetness.
- Keep the butter cold for flaky scones. - Don’t overwork the dough; handle it just enough to combine. - Serve warm with clotted cream or jam for a classic treat!
