– For the Dough:2 cups all-purpose flour Water (as needed) A pinch of salt – For the Filling:Minced chicken/veggies 1 cup finely chopped onions 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste Spices: salt, pepper, and garam masala
– 2 tomatoes (blanched and pureed) – 2 tbsp sesame seeds – 1 tbsp mustard seeds – 4-5 dried red chilies – 1 tbsp garlic paste – 1 tbsp tamarind paste – Salt, water, and oil – 2 tbsp lemon juice
– Mix flour, water, and salt into a smooth dough. Rest for 20 minutes. – Roll thin sheets, add filling, and fold into desired shapes. – Steam the momos for 8-10 minutes until cooked.
– Dry roast sesame and mustard seeds. Grind them into a paste with red chilies. – Heat oil; sauté garlic paste, then add the seed paste. – Add tomato puree, tamarind paste, salt, and water. Simmer for 10 minutes.
– Pour the warm jhol into a bowl. – Add steamed momos and garnish with fresh coriander. – Serve hot and enjoy the burst of flavors!
– Adjust chili levels to suit your spice tolerance. – Pair with a cool yogurt dip for balance. – Ensure the momos are evenly steamed for the best texture.
