Heat sesame oil in a frying pan. Add urad dal, chana dal. Fry the lentils on a low heat.
Add green chilies, curry leaves and miz it.
Add roughly chopped cabbage.eason with salt as per taste. Mix very well.
Add the warm or cooled cabbage chutney mixture in a blender. Add tamarind and warter, grind to a smooth chutney.
Heat sesame oil in a tadka pan, then add mustard seeds, hing and chilies. Stir and mix well.
Add the entire tempering mixture of spices and chillies (together with the oil) to the ground cabbage chutney. Mix again.
Serve and enjoy the cabbage chutney with South Indian snacks like dosa and idli.
