All-purpose flour, unsalted butter (chilled), sugar, egg yolk, vanilla extract, fruit jam.
In a bowl, mix flour, chilled butter, and sugar. Work it with your hands until it’s crumbly. Add the egg yolk and vanilla, then knead into dough.
Wrap your dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes. This makes it easier to roll out.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Use a heart-shaped cutter to create your tart bases.
Place a dollop of your favorite jam in the center of each tart. Not too much—just enough for a sweet bite.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes, until golden and crisp. The jam will bubble up beautifully.
