Grow Coffee At Home; With These Easy Steps

SIMRAN RAJPAL

The months of February and March are ideal for growing coffee in a home garden. To begin growing coffee, start with a grow bag, but make sure it has holes for drainage.

Soil for coffee plants should be friable and loamy. Combine perlite, vermiculite, vermicompost, and cow manure with it.

Both cuttings and seeds can be used to develop coffee plants, while cutting-grown plants take longer to produce fruit than seed-grown plants.

Give the coffee beans a full day to soak in water. Next, put them in a seedling tray with beginning mix inside of it, and continue watering them with a water can.

It takes two to four months for coffee seeds to sprout. Remove the seeds from the tray and place them in a pot as soon as they sprout.

The summer is the ideal time of year to grow coffee plants from cuttings. Remove all leaves from an 8 to 10 inch plant, leaving only the tips.

Next, place the cutting in a container that has been filled with a mixture of soil and fertilizer. In a few days, you will notice that the coffee plant is starting to take root. Whatever the approach, the coffee plant needs a full year or two to produce fruit.
