According to the scriptures, certain activities are prohibited on Saturdays during the month of Sawan. Those who commit these mistakes may incur the wrath of Lord Shani.
Do not purchase items made of iron on the first Saturday of Sawan. Avoid buying iron utensils, nails, or any other tools.
Do not purchase items made of leather on the first Saturday of Sawan. Avoid buying leather shoes, purses, or belts. Otherwise, Lord Shani may become displeased.
Buying oil on the first Saturday of Sawan is also prohibited. On Saturdays, oil is offered to and donated in honor of Lord Shani. Therefore, purchasing oil is forbidden.
On the first Saturday of Sawan, do not bring salt into the house. Doing so can lead to tension in relationships and may cause financial difficulties in the home.
On the first Saturday of Sawan, do not bring any sharp or pointed items into the house. Therefore, avoid bringing knives, needles, or any other sharp tools into the home.
On the first Saturday of Sawan, it is also considered prohibited to pluck tulsi, durva, belpatra, and peepal leaves. If you need these items, pluck them a day in advance.
