Boil salted water in a large pot and cook pasta per package instructions.
Saute garlic in butter for 1-2 minutes until softened.
Add heavy cream, simmer for 5 minutes, and season with salt and pepper.
Whisk in half the Parmesan cheese until smooth.
Reserve some pasta water, then toss cooked fettuccine with the sauce and remaining cheese.
Garnish with parsley and add pasta water if needed for consistency.
