Yamaha has announced a new three-wheeled electric vehicle that comes with triple-wheel steering functionality. The Yamaha Tricera is a futuristic electric vehicle concept and is set to be on display during the 2023 Japan Mobility Show later this month.
The Tricera’s trick feature is its rear-wheel steering. While the front wheels turn like you’d normally expect, the single rear wheel can also turn, thereby tightening your turning circle or lending greater stability at higher speeds.
As per the photos shared by the company, the upcoming Yamaha Tricera concept features a delta design, featuring an open-air type structure without any doors, and has a seating capacity for two people
When it comes to the other aspect, which makes it stand out from the crowd, is its two wheels at the front and one at the rear, providing a very close-to-car-type vibe. Yamaha says, the front and the rear wheel can be directed in the same way or opposite direction, which will provide greater maneuvering and stability when required.
It is expected that the vehicle might be capable of providing a decent range of more than 100 km to 120 km on a single charge, depending upon the riding style. Customers also can expect a max speed between 80 kph to 100 kph.
The emerging market of electric trikes, including the Yamaha Tricera, offers opportunities for sustainable and convenient modes of transportation.
