– 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 ½ tsp baking powder – ½ tsp baking soda – ¼ tsp salt – ¾ cup unsalted butter (softened) – 1 ½ cups granulated sugar – 4 large eggs – 2 tbsp lemon zest – ¼ cup fresh lemon juice – 1 cup buttermilk
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan. 2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
1. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. 3. Stir in lemon zest and juice.
1. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk. 2. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
– 1 cup powdered sugar – 2-3 tbsp fresh lemon juice Whisk together and drizzle over the cooled cake for an extra zesty kick!
1. Top with whipped cream and fresh berries. 2. Dust with powdered sugar for a classic touch. 3. Pair with your favorite tea or coffee for a delightful treat.
