Take 50g cocoa powder, 6 tbsp boiling water,3 eggs,4 tbsp milk, 175g self-raising flour,1 tsp baking powder, 100gsoft butter, 300g natural caster sugar.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and grease the cake tin with baking parchment paper.
Put cocoa powder and boiling water into a large bowl and mix well to make a paste. Add the remaining ingredients and beat again until combined.
Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until it's well risen and properly cooked.
Once baked, allow to cool for 10 minutes.
Fill the cakes with half of the icing and spread some chocolate sauce and chopped almonds on top.
