Toor dal, mixed veggies (carrot, potato, pumpkin, brinjal),turmeric, cumin seeds, dry red chilies, ghee, mustard seeds, cumin powder, garam masala, coconut, salt.
Rinse the toor dal thoroughly. Cook in a pressure cooker with 4 cups of water, turmeric, and salt for 3-4 whistles.
While the dal is cooking, chop the vegetables into small cubes. You can use seasonal vegetables like carrot, pumpkin, and brinjal.
In a pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee. Add cumin seeds, dry red chilies, and ginger. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
Add cumin powder, garam masala, and grated coconut. Let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes for all the flavors to blend.
Dalma is now ready! Serve hot with steamed rice or chapati for a wholesome meal.
