The fifth test match between India and England is currently underway in Dharamshala. On the first day, the England team was dismissed for 218 runs.
In this match, 23-year-old Devdutt Padikkal made his debut, becoming the 314th player to represent India in Test cricket.
Padikkal's debut was memorable as he scored 65 runs in his first Test innings, including 10 fours.
After his debut, Padikkal revealed that he was unwell for two years, which affected his performance. He got coronavirus and experienced stomach-related issues during this period.
Padikkal expressed his enjoyment of playing in his debut Test innings, although he admitted feeling nervous the night before the match.
However, Devdutt Padikkal has also participated in 2 T20 International matches for the Indian team, scoring 38 runs.
