Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and prepare a baking pan.
Pulse grated coconut into coarse crumbs.
Sift flour, baking powder, and soda.
Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla, then mix with flour and coconut milk.
Fold in cardamom and ground coconut.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, cool, refrigerate, slice, and serve.
