To make this Cabbage, ground beef, rice, onion, egg, garlic, paprika, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, sugar, and olive oil.
Carefully peel off whole leaves from the cabbage. Blanch them in boiling water for 3-4 minutes until soft. Let cool.
In a bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Place about 2 tbsp of the filling in the center of each cabbage leaf. Roll up, folding in the sides, and then roll tightly.
In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and sugar (if using). Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
Place the cabbage rolls in the sauce, cover, and simmer for 1-1.5 hours until the rolls are tender and flavorful.
Serve the cabbage rolls with some extra sauce on top. Enjoy with a side of mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
