Start by chopping your dates and walnuts. Soak the dates in warm water for 10 minutes to soften them.
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will give your cake a soft texture.
Add the eggs, one at a time, and vanilla extract. Mix well until everything is combined.
In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt together.
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chopped dates and walnuts gently into the batter.
Pour the batter into a greased cake pan. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
