Preheat oven to 180°C.
Blend bread into fine crumbs and mix with melted butter.
Press half of the mixture into a baking pan, then top with cream and cheese.
Add the remaining breadcrumbs and press lightly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Boil sugar and water to make syrup, add rose extract, pour over kunafa, and soak for 10 minutes before serving hot.
