For the dough: 2 cups of all flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/4 cup ghee, 1/2 cup lukewarm water.

For the filling: 1 cup grated coconut, 1 cup jaggery powder, 1/2 tsp cardamon powder, 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder.

Mix flour, salt and baking soda. Add ghee and mix until crumbly. Gradually add lukewarm water and knead.

Mix grated coconut, jaggery powder, cardamon powder and nutmeg powder.

Divide dough into small balls. Flatten each ball and fill with coconut mixture. Shape into Modak.

Place Madaks in a steamer basket. Steam for 10-15 minutes or until cooked.

Serve Modak hot with ghee.
