Blend cashews and yogurt into a smooth paste.
Mix marinade ingredients with the cashew-yogurt paste and marinate chicken for 2 hours.
Saute onions and green chillies in ghee, then stir-fry the chicken for 3-5 minutes.
Add the remaining marinade, bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Adjust seasoning and add sugar if needed, cook for 2 more minutes.
Serve hot with roti or naan.
