In a bowl, combine ½ cup of warm water with sugar and yeast. Stir gently and let it rest for about 5 minutes until it foams.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 7 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
Preheat your oven to 450°F (or higher if possible). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
Place the rolled-out dough on a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal or directly onto a greased pizza pan. Prick the dough with a fork to prevent bubbling.
Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving about an inch around the edges for crust.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot!
