Thick bread, butter, flour, cheddar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and cayenne pepper.
Toast the bread until golden brown.
Melt butter in a pan, then whisk in the flour. Add the milk slowly, stirring until smooth.
Stir in the grated cheddar cheese, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Cook until creamy.
When adding the egg yolk, slowly whisk in some of the hot cheese mixture first.
Pair with a crisp salad or enjoy on its own for a comforting meal.
