Classic Cottage Pie Recipe

 Ingredients

- 500g minced mutton   - 1 onion (chopped)   - 2 carrots (diced)   - 2 garlic cloves (minced)   - 1 cup mutton broth   - 2 tbsp tomato paste   - 4 potatoes (boiled & mashed)   - Salt, pepper, and thyme

Cook The Filling

Sauté the veggies. In a pan, sauté onions, garlic, and carrots until soft.

Add The Meat

Add the minced mutton and cook until browned.

Season & Simmer

 Add tomato paste, mutton broth, salt, pepper, and thyme. Simmer for 15 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Prepare The Topping

Boil potatoes, mash with butter and milk, and season with salt and pepper.

Assemble The Pie

 Spread the mutton filling in a baking dish, top with mashed potatoes, and smooth it out.

Bake

Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 20 minutes until the top is golden brown.
