Preheat oven to 180°C, grease and flour a cake pan.
Sift flour and baking powder together, set aside.
Beat eggs with sugar until fluffy, add oil, and whip again.
Fold in flour and butterscotch essence, then bake for 30-40 minutes.
Cool, chill the cake, then slice into three layers.
Make butterscotch syrup and whip cream with icing sugar.
Assemble the cake with syrup, cream, praline crumbs, and chill for 2-4 hours before serving.
