Select high-quality, freshly roasted coffee beans, preferably South Indian, for the best flavor.
Grind the beans to a fine consistency suitable for filter coffee preparation.
Use a traditional South Indian coffee filter and add the ground coffee to the top chamber.
Pour hot boiling water over the coffee grounds and allow it to drip slowly into the lower chamber.
Boil full-fat milk and froth it well to create a creamy texture for the coffee.
Pour the coffee decoction into a cup, and add the hot milk, adjusting the strength as per preference.
Add sugar to taste, stir well, and enjoy your authentic filter coffee in a traditional steel tumbler and davara.
