‘Well Done, Sir!’: Netizens Applaud RPF Cop Seen Snatching Woman’s Phone To ‘Teach Lesson’

Choudhary has gained a reputation for posting similar videos in which he interacts with passengers both in the station and on trains.

A personnel of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has gained widespread attention for demonstrating real-life to passengers about snatching that happens regularly across most railway stations. The video shows RPF officer Ritu Raju Choudhary approaching an unsuspecting passenger and snatching the lady’s smartphone through the rail window.

Choudhary has gained a reputation for posting similar videos in which he interacts with passengers both in the station and on trains. In the now-viral clip, the woman, who was seated at the window of a sleeper class coach, appeared startled by Choudhary’s speed as he snatched the phone before the woman could respond.

“To teach the female passenger not to be careless, the officer gave her a lesson. The forces are present for security, but you have to be aware and be alert; only then can you avoid any kind of inconvenience,” Choudhary captioned the video.

As of the last update, the video had garnered over 3.4 million views and hundreds of comments, with social media users applauding Choudhary for his actions.

“It is very important to make the public aware. Proud of you sir,” said one user while another added: “Good initiative, sir. Such officers are rarely found.”

A third commented: Just warning! a great salute to the RPF officer and a fourth user commented,’Theory practical dono sath me diye’.

In August, a man lost his balance and fell off a moving train after a thief stole his cell phone in Thane district near Mumbai. The traveler was sitting at the front of the local train at the time of the incident while it was between Shahad and Ambivali stations in the Central Railway region.

Mobile phone thefts, according to police officers, are one of the most prevalent crimes on the railways. According to authorities, the offenders are drug addicts and organised gangs, with several interstate gangs also stealing from railway passengers.

Based on data compiled with the Government Railway Police, more than 26,000 cell phones were stolen from passengers from January 2023 to May 2025.
