As 2025 draws to a close, people are once again talking about the predictions of the famous Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga.
Often called the ‘Nostradamus of the Balkans’, Baba Vanga was blind and became well known for her mysterious prophecies, which continue to attract global attention years after her death.
Born as Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova in 1911 in what is now North Macedonia, she lost her sight at the age of 12 after being caught in a violent storm. Many of her followers believed this event gave her special clairvoyant abilities.
According to reports, Baba Vanga made several troubling predictions for 2026. These include major natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and extreme climate events that could affect large parts of the world.
One of her most alarming predictions was the possibility of a Third World War in 2026. She reportedly warned of rising tensions between major global powers, including China, Russia and the United States. Some accounts claim she foresaw a Chinese move on Taiwan and a direct conflict between Russia and the US.
She is also said to have predicted first contact with extraterrestrial life in November 2026. According to these claims, a large spacecraft would enter Earth’s atmosphere, sparking fear and curiosity among people.
Scientists remain highly sceptical about any near-term contact with alien life. However, the prediction continues to fuel public interest in space and the search for life beyond Earth.
Baba Vanga died in 1996, but many believe some of her past predictions came true, including the 9/11 attacks and the death of Princess Diana. She had also warned of powerful earthquakes in 2025 and economic troubles in Europe, which supporters link to recent natural disasters and ongoing conflict on the continent.
Despite her popularity, experts stress that her prophecies should be viewed with caution and not treated as factual forecasts.
