During the proceedings of the Private Member Bill in the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy presented a Private Member Bill related to Greenfield infrastructure and district development, which is a bill aimed at granting constitutional status to a particular direction. During this, Speaker Om Birla interrupted Rajiv Pratap Rudy, advising him that the voters from his constituency in Bihar’s Saran are more familiar with Hindi.
What happened was that when Rajiv Pratap Rudy presented the Private Member Bill, he spoke in English. In response, Speaker Om Birla interrupted him and mentioned that the voters in Rudy’s constituency understand Hindi better. BJP MP Rudy responded with a light-hearted remark, saying that occasionally it’s necessary to remind the house that they are also capable of speaking English.

He said that while you may know this, the image of leaders often involves showing their proficiency in English. Many new MPs have arrived here. Previously, BJP MP Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur had presented a Private Member Bill in the House related to the development of the Bhojpuri language and literature, providing social security to artists of all languages and genres, and ensuring life insurance for fishermen along with care for their children.
