New Delhi: The Election Commission has announced election dates in 5 states. The Election Commission announced that elections will be held in eight phases in West Bengal.
With this, the code of conduct has come into force. Under this, the center and states will no longer be able to announce new schemes. Results on the assembly seats of all states will be declared on May 2.
Election dates and seat positions in 294 seats of West Bengal
Phase 1: 30 seats, March 27
Phase 2: 30 seats, April 1
Phase 3: 31 seats, April 6
Phase 4: 44 seats, April 10
Phase 5: 45 seats, April 17
Phase 6: 43 seats, April 22
Phase 7: 36 seats, April 26
Phase 8: 35 seats, April 29
There will be 1,01,916 booths in West Bengal. There are a total of 18.68 crore voters in five states, with a total booth number of 2.7 lakh.
Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said that adequate deployment of CAPF would be ensured for the assembly elections. Sensitive, highly sensitive areas have been identified and advance deployment has already been done.
All election personnel will be vaccinated by Covid-19 before the elections for the 5 assemblies.
