New Delhi: On Sunday, a video from Delhi's Daryaganj area went viral. This video is being discussed all over the country.
In this video, a woman Abha Yadav and her husband Pankaj Dutta are seen engaged in a heated argument with the police. Both were in the car and had not put on masks. Both got into a vicious argument with the police after they were stopped.
Now the woman's statement has come out on Monday.
"There were masks in the car, but we did not wear them because we thought it was not necessary for the couple to be in the car," the woman said.
"I feel suffocated and have trouble breathing while wearing a mask. Logically, I felt that it was not needed in the car as I was only with my husband. I am of the opinion that masks should be worn in public places," she added.
The woman's husband Pankaj Dutta, who was supporting his wife during the argument, later blamed her wife for the whole incident.
"I am guilty of disgraceful behaviour because of my wife. We had a fight in my car over getting her to wear a mask, but she was neither wearing the mask herself nor allowing me to wear it. When the police stopped us, my wife started to misbehave with the police. I accept my mistake, everyone should wear masks," he said.
After the incident, the police called the female staff from the police station and caught them and brought them to the police station. Both have been booked under sections 188, 34, 51B DDMA, 353 and 186 of IPC. The couple are residents of West Patel Nagar in Delhi.
