The Yogi government has strengthened its control over these adulterators who are endangering the health of common people.
Healthy Approach to Combat Unhealthy Foods
The Uttar Pradesh government has chosen to open up this campaign to the public in an effort to combat adulterators. Anywhere people witness the production or sale of tainted, fake, or unhealthy food products, they can report it right away. Diwali Special Campaign
Throughout Uttar Pradesh, teams from multiple departments carried out 2,085 raids, 4,621 inspections, and 2,853 sample tests during the Diwali special campaign. Numerous contaminated and harmful food products were confiscated. The estimated worth of the 2,993 quintals of food goods that were seized was ₹3.88 crore. 1,155 quintals of food items that were judged unfit for human consumption—worth roughly ₹1.75 crore—were immediately burnt. Three FIRs have also been filed in the districts of Unnao, Mathura, and Lucknow.
UP: Seizures of Spoiled Food
There were 358 kg of sweet cakes, 2200 kg of burfi, 250 kg of Peda, 500 liters of milk, and 400 kg of khoya destroyed at Kanpur. 1400 kg of paneer and khoya and 1000 liters of contaminated mustard oil were confiscated in Gorakhpur. They confiscated 180 kg of paneer, 2500 kg of khoya, 20 kg of skim milk powder, and 71 liters of palm oil in Meerut. In Etah, 900 kg of ghee and 340 liters of mustard oil were destroyed. Agra, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, and other areas too saw the seizure and destruction of spoiled items valued at lakhs of rupees.
The campaign was not city specific. In toll plazas and on highways, adulterators were also apprehended. According to reports, 750 kilograms of paneer were seized at the Sahibabad toll plaza. Four thousand and forty kilograms of khoya were found on NH-34, GT Road, Kanpur, while 1,500 kilograms of paneer were found near the Hapur toll plaza in Chijarsi. Nine hundred and ten cartons of spoiled candy were seized at the Barabanki transit hub. On Kanpur Panki Road, 2,450 kg of khoya were destroyed.
