Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been a delight to watch for the fans when it comes to seeing his attacking brand of cricket. The latter has changed the rules of traditional batting and takes on the bowlers from the first ball. In the present time, Rohit is undergoing a rough patch where he has struggled to score runs. While the Indian team is all set to take on Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series, Rohit will be unavailable for the first Test which is set to begin in Perth from November 22.

As per a report by Times of India, Rohit Sharma has continued to train at the Reliance Corporate Park in Mumbai and his departure for Australia is still very uncertain. The report further adds that Rohit wants to make the full use of his time in India and wills to make himself ready for the upcoming Australian challenge. As quoted by Times of India, a source said, “There is no clarity yet on his departure. It all depends on how things unfold on the personal front. He is doing what any father would at this stage, which is to stay with his wife and family. But at the same time, he is ensuring to be well-tuned for the Test series and will be batting at every possible opportunity in Mumbai.”

Jasprit Bumrah will be leading the Indian team in the first Test against Australia in the absence of Rohit Sharma as per Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir. The Indian team has defeated Australia twice in Australia and they will look forward to repeating the same performance in the 2024-25 tour as well. Once Rohit reaches Australia, he will like to push himself and score as more runs as he can. However, he fails to deliver, it might also be the end of Test career.
