An Irishman from Australia was embarrassed when he unintentionally ordered a takeaway to Dublin, 15,000 kilometres away, and the amusing incident went viral on TikTok. Oisin Lenehan, who recently arrived in Melbourne and was staying with friends Kyle, 33, and Sarah, 29, until he got his own apartment, ordered two barbeque chicken pizzas, garlic bread, and chips from Uber Eats for about €60.
When Oisin received confirmation that his meal was on its way, he realised his error: he had ordered the food to a Dublin address, which was more than 15,000 kilometres away. “I ordered from what I thought was a local place,” Oisin, who hails from Aghagallon in Antrim, told What’s the Jam.
“We were having a lovely evening of drinks, and I decided to order a takeaway for us as I was their guest. Everything was great until I received confirmation that the order was completed and checked the summary. The food was being delivered to a place in Dublin where I’d been for a night out. I was absolutely gutted. My heart sank because we were hungry and now we had to go through the whole process again of deciding where to order and what we wanted,” he added.
A video showing Oisin appealing with the takeaway to refund his order has gone viral on social media, with over half a million views. Kyle claimed that he’s been inundated with messages from girls seeking to gain Oisin’s number. Oisin explained: “I had to call them, and they gave me a refund, but that’s when Sarah started filming,” according to Dublin Live.
