In a tragic accident that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda at least 38 people died after a passenger bus fell into the Chenab River gorge leaving several injured. Reportedly 50 people were travelling in the bus. The passengers were travelling to Jammu from Kishtwar and the accident took place near Raginallah Assar, approximately 15 km for Doda. 38 people were killed and several passengers were severely injured. The injured were taken to the nearest health care centre. An official said that the rescue operation is still going on. J-K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that he is “extremely pained by the loss of lives” and wished for a speedy recovery of injured. Recently 10 people were injured in an accident that took place near the Line of Control in the Poonch sector. As per the local reports, the vehicle met with an accident as it was travelling from the Poonch sector to Bandi Chechiyan village. They were admitted to the district hospital and their condition is stable,” an official was quoted as saying.
