An unsettling incident unfolded in Sharifpur village of Kaushambi district on Tuesday afternoon. A 32-year-old woman reportedly severed her neighbor’s genitals amidst a dispute. The grievous altercation led to the woman’s detainment by the police, who promptly secured the knife used in the distressing act. Authorities in Kaushambi confirmed an ongoing investigation to ascertain the motives and circumstances surrounding this shocking attack. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old victim is receiving medical care in Prayagraj.
In response to the distressing episode, the victim’s father lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Manjhanpur police station, invoking sections 326 and 308 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertain to causing grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon and culpable homicide, respectively. According to the father’s account, the accused had summoned his son for an errand at her residence, leading to a heated altercation over undisclosed issues.
He recounted discovering his unconscious son inside the neighbor’s house, swiftly transporting him to a local hospital in Kaushambi. However, the severity of the injuries warranted the victim’s transfer to Prayagraj for further medical attention. Police noted that the woman’s husband resides in the UAE and highlighted a heated exchange between the victim and the accused on the day of the incident.
