About the wedding
The actor tells us that the wedding was initially planned to take place in his hometown in Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan, but was later shifted to Mumbai due to logistical constraints. “We wanted to have the wedding in our hometown, but it wasn’t possible to make the necessary arrangements there,” Aasif explains, and goes on, “So, we decided to shift the wedding to Mumbai, where Zeba’s family lives. We later had a reception back home, which was attended by more guests.”
When asked about friends from the industry who graced the occasion, Aasif shares how both him and Zeba wanted to keep it simple. “We always wanted it to be an intimate affair with close friends and family. We were sure that a star-studded evening is not something we were looking for.” However, some of his close friends from the industry did make it to the wedding. “All the celebrities, from Huma Qureshi, Saquib Saleem to Ritvik Dhanjani, are really dear friends of mine, and that’s why they were part of the celebration,” he added.
Relationship with Zeba
Talking about how he met Zeba, Aasif tells us, “We met very randomly in Mumbai, and never knew that it would end up in a marriage. Door door tak dimaag me nahi tha ki main unse shaadi krunga. I can’t describe it. But with time, I realized that she was my female version. We are very similar. That’s when it clicked – if everything is so good, why not get married?”
The couple is very similar yet different and that’s what make them interesting, points out Asif. “Between us, she understands when to stay calm and when to react. She is very mature that way and knows how to handle difficult situations. I am the more talkative and impulsive one in the relationship.”
As they begin their new life together, Aasif and Zeba have embarked on a special trip to Mecca and Medina for Umrah. “We discussed many places, but then we thought, why not go somewhere special after the wedding? That’s how we came up with the idea of Umrah. We will stay there for 10-12 days,” Aasif ends.
